The Nascar Series Cup heads to Darlington Raceway, and if you follow Motorsports, you’re in luck as we have some free betting picks for the Goodyear 400 race on Sunday.
The Darlington Raceway is one of the oldest race tracks on the circuit, having been created from farmland back in the 1950s. This weekend it hosts its 122nd Nascar Series Cup race, and we can’t wait for the action to get started.

The old course has seen plenty of changes over the years. It has seen the addition of lights, the moving of the start/finish line, etc, but it still retained its old school feel and is rightly regarded as one of the more testing courses on the circuit.

Of the current crop of drivers, only six have tasted victory here, and only three have multiple wins. The multiple winners are Denny Hamlin with four, Kevin Harvick with three, and Martin Truex Jr with two.
The most recent winner here is Hamlin. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver won the Cook Out Southern 500 last September. But with Hamlin’s form not the best this season, what chance has he got of claiming a 5th Chequered Flag in South Carolina?
Who is the Favourite to Win the Goodyear 400?
The aforementioned Denny Hamlin is the joint-second favorite at +700 with the best Nascar Betting Sites. Hamlin sits on that price alongside Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr.
The outright favorite to win the race is Kyle Larson, with the Hendrick Racing driver at +450 with BetUS.
Larson only has one win to his name this season. But you still get the feeling a run of chequered flags is just around the corner. The Hendrick Racing car is still competitive, and it’s still early days yet this season.
A message for all Larson backers, there’s no need to panic!!
Nascar Cup Series 2022; What has Happened So Far?
In last weekend’s race, the Duramax Drydene 400, Chase Elliott took the chequered flag to claim his first win of the 2022 season.
The victory has also seen him open up a 50 points gap at the top of the standings. Elliott is currently on 418 points, with his closest rival, Ryan Blaney, on 368.
In total, there have now been 11 races this season, with nine different race winners. Only William Byron (2 wins) of Hendrick Motorsports and Ross Chastain (2 wins) of the Trackhouse Racing Team have more than one win to their names.
In the betting to win the 2022 Nascar Cup Series, pre-season favorite Kyle Larson is still just about the favorite at odds of +550 in the latest Futures betting markets.
This is just ahead of teammate Chase Elliott, who is now breathing down the neck of the defending champion at odds of +600 with BetOnline.
This is a significant shift in the betting odds, given that Larson started the season as the clear betting favorite.
Goodyear 400 Predictions and Free Picks
Next up, it’s our free betting picks, and I have searched the best online sportsbooks for a nice variety of selections from differing markets.
Kyle Larson +480 to Win with MyBookie
First up, I want to look at the champ, Kyle Larson. Yes, he’s not had the greatest of seasons when it comes to wins, and it’s true he has never won at Darlington.
But Larson has five top 5 finishes this season, a great overall record at this circuit, and he is just too good to never win at Darlington.
He has never finished outside of the top 15 here and has been the runner-up in his last three races at the South Carolina race track.
His time will come soon enough, and I’m thinking, why not now? So I’m making Kyle Larson my betting pick to win the Goodyear 400 at +480 with MyBookie.
Ross Chastain +350 for Top 3 Finish with Bovada
I’m tempted to go with Ross Chastain to win the race overall; such is his form with the Truckhouse team this season.
He already has seven top 5 finishes this season, with two wins to his name also. Chastain is just flying at the moment, and he is too hot to ignore.
At +350 for a top 3 finish, Chastain is also a good value cover bet.
Kyle Busch +275 to be Top Toyota Driver with Bovada
This selection might be slightly off the wall, but since 2010 Kyle Busch has an average finish of 9th at the Darlington Raceway circuit.
Both Kyle and his brother Kurt learned their trade on oval tracks and can’t be discounted this weekend.
The problem is that there have been no wins here since 2008 for Kyle.
So instead of going for him to win or finish in the top 3, I’ve instead selected Kyle Busch to be the top Toyota driver at +350 as my final pick.
