The 2022 French Open is set to kick off on May 22, meaning we’re less than a week away from the year’s second Grand Slam tennis tournament.
And as we get closer to the tournament, the offered betting odds continue to shift, moving closer and closer to the accurate price, which will get shown right before the event begins.
Even though we have seen many French Open Odds movements on the ATP Betting markets, those who were considered the favorites weeks back continue to hold onto that tag. But there were some exceptions.

Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Nadal Lead The Way
Less than a week out from the 2022 French Open, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Rafael Nadal sit atop of the ATP outright betting market as the main favorites to win the title on French clay. That isn’t too surprising, but the other in which the three tennis stars are placed might be to some.
Djokovic is the top favorite, priced at +162, which might make sense to some. He is (still) the no.1 tennis player in the world and the defending French Open champion. Moreover, he has won French Open twice in his career, has made six finals, and has reached at least QF across his last 12 attempts.
However, while Djokovic is undeniably an incredibly talented player, he hasn’t shown much this season. That largely has to do with the fact that the Serb hasn’t attended that many events in 2022. Still, that’s hardly a good excuse.
In his defense, Djokovic won the Italian Open this weekend, so he might have found his form just in time to compete for the Grand Slam trophy. But that’s one big “IF.”
Carlos Alcaraz has not achieved nearly as much as Djokovic over his career. However, he is just 19-years-old and is already viewed as one of the favorites for the French Open. And that’s completely fair.
The youngster has been recognized as the “Next Nadal,” and there is little to suggest he can’t live up to the hype. He did not compete in the Italian Open, but he won the Madrid Open at the start of May and the Barcelona Open in April.
Moreover, Alcaraz has also won the Miami Open and reached QF in Indian Wells – where he got eliminated by Rafael Nadal. So even though Alcaraz has more to prove before we can consider him as the future superstar, he is not that far off from earning that tag.
Rafael Nadal, also known as the “King of Clay,” returns to his most successful tournament, hoping to claim his second Grand Slam title of the year. Every time the French Open is on the schedule, it is fair to start questioning whether Nadal can do it again and go all the way.
And even though he undeniably has the talent to do so, there are some concerns with his injury, which might prevent Nadal from living up to the expectations. Nevertheless, there is a good reason why Nadal holds 13 French Open titles, and even though he might not travel to France at 100%, he remains a threat for the title.
